Description

My True Colors Festival is an annual multidisciplinary arts event, taking place June 14 - July 2, 2017 at multiple venues in Brooklyn, New York. Now in its third season, MTCF has received submissions from across the country and around the globe and has showcased plays, documentaries, film shorts, feature films, web series originals, dance and musical acts as well as workshops for and by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) storytellers and communities of color. This includes one-on-one conversations with notable celebrities and allies such as ABC's Black-ish actress Jenifer Lewis and For Colored Girls... playwright Ntozake Shange. What's more, since inception MTCF have been recognized as an Official NYC Pride Event Partner.

L Word 4.0: a series of film shorts and documentaries by female directors, producers, and storytellers.

Counting, Violet and Milly make a love promise in 1951 over a penny. In 2015, the promise comes due, and Violet must face a heartbreaking reality.

Primary Colors, cinepoem by Sudanese-Canadian artist Roua Aljied about the realities of domestic violence and how each step a woman takes is a new color to paint on the canvass of life.

Parallel The Documentary, B. Danielle Watkins chronicles being the only African-American in the inaugural lesbian only Cinema Systers Film Festival in Paducah, Kentucky.
