My One and All: My Swansea Coast Poetry Workshop led by Owen Sheers
Event Information
Description
The One and All: My Swansea Coast Poetry Workshop is a fantastic opportunity to create and learn about poetry with poet and Professor in Creativity at Swansea University, Owen Sheers. The workshop will develop poetry writing around the theme of connection/relationship to the Gower/ Swansea Coastline. Creative writing students from the English Department; Swansea University will assist in helping create poetic journeys that reflect relationship to coast.
Participants will be required to attend an additional session in January (tbc) to finalise their poetry.
The poetry created from the workshop, will be displayed at an exhibition in the Ceri Richards Gallery, Taliesin in February 2017. The exhibition will bring together public photography, poetry from the workshop and film-poem On The Sea’s Land (Ar-for-dir). On The Sea’s Land captures Owen Sheers’ poetic journey along the Gower Coast, with stunning footage by Benjamin Wigley (artdocs). On the Sea’s Land was commissioned by Trust New Art / National Trust and Sound UK and supported by Arts Council England.
