Description

This quilt basket was made in class last fall!

My quilt basket has been around for years in so many variations! Mine was made at least 20 years ago with Anne Bowers. It is so sturdy and serviceable and has carried loads of heavy books, materials for festivals and anything else I need to load into it! Quilt Basket class is a 2-day class.

You must be a member of the High Country Bakwtry Guild to take this class. To join, contact the High Guild at https://highcountrybasketguild.shutterfly.com/ Please click on Newsletter tab and click on the latest news letter. In there is the form and address where to send the information & check for membership.

You will use this basket for any years. The basket is the photo is stained.

Measuring 17"L x 8"W and 19" at the handle, the weaving moves more quickly due to a 2" ash strip insert! The handle weaves back into the basket and is wrapped making the basket extra strong. Dark Green is the one color choice.

All sales and proceeds from Charm City Baskets are dedicated to supporting the research of the nonprofit Center for Research in Basketry, Inc., (CRB). The CRB’s mission is to study the effects of social policy on the basket making industry, the work and personal lives of basket makers and their baskets, and to add scholarship and research to the profession.

In a race to save the disappearing craft of basket making, the CRB and its exhibits are part of a vital research effort by the Center for Research in Basketry to identify and record baskets throughout Maryland.

The Center holds basket making classes from March until October.

Our CRB website, basketresearch.org is under revision and reorganization. Should you have any questions, please contact Kathi Beauchesne at kobeauchesne@basketresearch.org.
