About this event
In observation of Minority (or BIPOC) Mental Health Awareness Month, Mindful + Melanated and Sane Jane, Inc. have joined forces to host a speaker series for black and brown women: "My Mental Health is not Minor."
During the month of July, Regina Renaye, founder of Mindful + Melanated, and Paige Gaines, CEO & founder of Sane Jane, Inc. will be interviewing three BIPOC women who will share their expertise in areas such as mental health in the work place, restorative practices, and the importance of peer support:
July 15, 2021 - Jasmine Naylor, Founder of Jasmine Naylor Enterprise
Jasmine Naylor, the founder of Jasmine Naylor Enterprise, is a spending strategist, wealth expert and author known as the “spitfire” financial change agent. A master in teaching the art of living wealthy through prioritization, boundaries and accountability, this former teen mom and self proclaimed “poverty princess” turned her lemons into lemonade and her passion for people's progress into an enterprise focused on purposefully changing lives. Jasmine specializes in working with Brave, Bold, Believers who are ready to #ChangeNow. She is intimately knowledgeable about the struggles black and brown women face in the workplace. She asserts that we often find ourselves waiting for "permission" to be bold and impactful at work. During her talk, this "spit fire" is going to fuel you with the energy you need to give yourself permission to thrive at work while maintaining your mental health!
July 22, 2021 - Nieisha Deed, Founder of PureSpark
Nieisha Deed, a Roxbury, Massachusetts native, is the founder of PureSpark. She spent 15 years as a corporate accountant until she was diagnosed with severe depression and unable to return back to work. After her recovery she founded PureSpark, a platform she uses to help educate the community on the importance of prioritizing their mental health. She is a mental health advocate and public speaker who is unafraid to share her own personal story to aid in the recovery of others. Nieisha is a staunch believer in seeking support and going to peer support groups. During her talk she is going to tell us how and why it is important to surround yourself with healthy support systems (while you're good AND when you're not feeling it).
July 29, 2021 - Ayanna Parrent, Founder of B Free Wellness, Inc.
Ayanna Parrent is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher, and the CEO and Founder of B FREE Wellness, Inc.
