There is a hush over the cities, states and our nation that needs to be lifted. Because there are people dying in silence but the after effects are loud as sirens. That siren is called Suicide. If suicide doesn’t become a consistent dialogued conversation those suffering will continue to be silenced through death. Let’s lift the stigma, myths and awareness of this community crippling disease. Let’s talk about it! Let’s R.E.E.C.H. 4 LIFE and “Sound the Alarm on Suicide” ™
Every minute it is estimated that a suicide attempt is made. Bringing the number of suicide attempts over one million every year worldwide. The global suicide rate is 16 for every 100,000 people in the population. On average every 40 seconds someone dies by suicide somewhere in the world. Bringing the deaths by suicide to 1.8% of the worldwide deaths. Globally suicide rates have increased by 60% in the past 45 years.
With suicide being the 4th leading cause of death in the United States among people ages 18-65, it is no longer something that should be talked about in passing. Suicide is a public health issue that does not discriminate by age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status.
By becoming a sponsor of the R.E.E.C.H for LIFE, “Sound the Alarm on Suicide” Prevention Program, you will help raise money for vital education programs like our “My Last Party” play that will identify suicide risk factors and signs, uncover misconceptions, and give tools and protective factors in order to prevent suicide and save lives. This would increase awareness about the causes and symptoms of suicide in order to prevent as many families as we can in incurring suicide loss. As well as to reduce the incidence of suicide and suicide attempts among troubled teens by conveying that they are not alone in their struggles with emotional and mental health problems.
We are looking for great Vendors for this event.
