About this Event

Purpose of the film screening and Community Conversation is to develop ways we as a community can support black girls into womanhood.

We need you to be part of the discussion

The topics discussed during the Community Conversation:

  • Helping black girls with disabilities either visible or non-visible disabilities succeed in school, employment and life.
  • Handling depression and other mental health issues among young black girls.
  • How can the black community properly help black girls who may be “at risk”.
  • What kind of policies we need to help black girls succeed in school settings, employment and in life.
  • How to deal with social media and cyber bullying culture ( especially fighting on social media).
  • Importance of mentorship.
  • How can we celebrate and empower our young women right now.
