Event description

Description

In partnership with Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh, through the generous support of the Heinz Endowments, and on behalf of the local My Brother’s Keeper Committee, The Sprout Fund is hosting the My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Digital Literacy Collaborative Progress Update on Tuesday, November 28th from 4-6:00pm at the Kaufmann Center in the Hill District.

The MBK Digital Literacy Collaborative connected youth-serving organizations that can reach youth, particularly young men of color ages 16-24, in out-of-school-time settings to resource organizations with demonstrated deep experience in mentorship, youth leadership, and/or digital literacy best practices. Through a series of 3 professional development and technical assistance sessions over the summer, the partners worked to develop case studies of high-quality program examples and refine plans for 2017-18 programming.

At the Progress Update event, the Digital Literacy Collaborative resource organizations will present highlights from their case studies and the youth-serving organizations will provide updates on the programming they are piloting this fall. This event will additionally be used to share an opportunity to become involved with the current My Brother's Keeper Planning Process and distribute the first Pittsburgh MBK Annual Report.

This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by November 21st.
