This event is being held in compliance with all provincial health and safety orders in effect at the time of the entry being posted as well as facility requirements for Covid-19. Our goal is to allow our dancers to compete in a safe, calm, inclusive and positive environment. We appreciate unexpected situations will arise on the day that may require action that is meant to protect our dancers, judges, volunteers and other participants.
Covid-19 Protocols:
1. Public Health requirements will be continuously evaluated, and participants will be informed of any Covid-19 protocols prior to the event through social media and email.
2. In the absence of any Public Health Order mandates, the organizing committee for Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing strongly encourage participants to:
a. Wear a mask for your own protection and the protection of others (dancers continue to have a choice whether to wear a mask while competing)
b. Maintain physical distancing wherever possible
c. Frequent hand hygiene
d. Stay home if you feel sick
3. Upon registering for this event and immediately prior to the event, you agree to the requirements and recommendations of any National, Provincial and local Public health and other governmental authorities as well as any requirements from Nunns Creek Park which may be in effect at the time of the event, as it pertains to the Covid-19 Coronavirus and to adopt all necessary measures to those effects.
4. Participants are required to agree to each of the following at the time of registration:
a. Good Health Declaration
b. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/Covid-19
c. ScotDance Canada Competition and Workshop Waiver
Rules for attending ScotDance Canada Sanctioned Competitions:
Competition Rules and Regulations:
1. All dancing events are governed by the rules and regulations of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD) and ScotDance Canada.
2. This event may be cancelled at any time up to, and including on or during the date of competition, dependent upon public health concerns.
3. The decision of the judge(s) is final.
4. Dancers will compete in inverse order of entry. First to enter is last to dance.
5. Age is as of 12.01am on competition date.
6. Entry fee must accompany entry.
7. Late entries will NOT be accepted.
8. Refunds are at discretion of Organizer policy. Where admittance to event is refused based upon good health declaration, fees will be refunded (excepting an administration fee of $5.00 per family).
9. Dancers must be registered with the RSOBHD or RSOBHD subsidiary body (such as ScotDance Canada) in order to compete. All competitors must present current RSOBHD registration card prior to receiving awards.
10. Protests must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the Organizer by the end of the competition day and must be accompanied by a $35.00 fee, refundable, if sustained.
11. The Organizer reserves the right to combine or split classes.
12. No category changes will be accepted on the day of competition.
13. Competitors must be on hand when their event is called or forfeit entry in that dance.
14. All competitors must remain in costume for award presentations.
15. Dancers must be dressed appropriately at all times.
16. Dancers and parents must respect the ScotDance Canada Risk Management Guidelines, local, Provincial and Federal health authority directives, and RSOBHD Code of Ethics.

Upon entering the park, participants will be required to complete QR Code Questionnaire or sign a contact tracing document (example to follow) at the registration table acknowledging that none of the conditions below apply.

Have you or your dancer(s) experienced any of the following in the past 14 days?
a. have experienced cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days, including fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, or difficulty breathing;
b. have tested positive for COVID-19, and have not yet been cleared to discontinue isolation in accordance with applicable criteria communicated by public health officials (awaiting results);
c. have been in close contact with a person who, to my knowledge, had symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19, and I have not yet been cleared to discontinue isolation in accordance with applicable criteria communicated by public health officials; or
d. am currently subject to a quarantine or self-isolation order
If any of these answers apply to your current situation, we respectfully request that you stay home.
If you or anyone in your household had any travel outside of Canada within the past 14 days and have been asked to quarantine, you may not attend the event.
As well, on the day of the competition, if you are feeling unwell, experiencing COVID-like symptoms, or if you have been asked by Public Health to self-isolate, please stay home.
We all need to take responsibility for providing the highest level of safety and protection against Covide-19. There will be many more competitions in the future, this is only one day. Your health and safety, and that of all participants at our sanctioned events are our primary concern.

Ticket Purchase
To enter, you will choose the 'ticket' that you wish to purchase. Please look carefully at which 'event' you would like to purchase.
After you purchase your tickets (which is the entry fees), please purchase an 'add on' which will be your entrance to the venue. You must purchase your entrance to the venue here as there will be no cash on site and no payments taken the day of the competition.
If you would like a program, please also purchase an 'add on' when you purchase your tickets. For those who have purchased a program, it will be available for pick up with your dancer's competition number. Teachers with students dancing this competition will not be charged admission fees, but will need to purchase a dance teacher ticket in advance.

PLEASE NOTE:
1. BY SELECTING THE GROUP OF DANCES FOR YOUR CLASS, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ENTERED FOR ALL DANCES. IF YOUR DANCER IS NOT DANCING ALL THE DANES IN THIS CLASS, PLEASE EMAIL MWHDACOMPETITIONSECRETARY@GMAIL.COM AND REQUEST A REFUND FOR WHICH DANCE YOUR DANCERS CHOOSES TO WITHDRAW FROM. YOUR REFUND WILL BE ETRANSFERRED AT YOUR REQUEST.
2. SDCCS FEE/SD PROVINCE AFFILIATE FEE/DANCE NUMBER FEE/ONLINE SERVICE FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE) ARE INCLUDED IN EACH EVENT PURCHASED.
3. PRE PREMIER CLASSES WILL BE AWARDED MEDALS. PREMIER CLASS WILL BE AWARDED CASH PRIZES.
Rules for attending ScotDance Canada Sanctioned Competitions:
On the competition day, entry into the competition will be allowed only after QR code or contact tracing sheet has been signed and declaration of good health has been provided.
On the day of the competition, if you are feeling unwell, experiencing COVID-like symptoms, or if you have been asked by Public Health to self-isolate, please stay home.
If you test positive for Covid following the event, you must contact the competition organizer
Physical distancing strongly encouraged at all times while within the facility.

COVID-19 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Completion of the Scotdance Canada Covid-19 QR code questionnaire or signed questionnaire is required for entry.
REMEMBER TO PACK YOUR CARD! A valid 2022 Scotdance card is required to pick up your competition number. A photo of your card is not a replacement. You will be charged a $5.00 fee for a missing card. (Scotdance Canada Rule).
PROGRAM: If ordered in advance, the program for the day will be available for pick up with your dancers competition number.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Please note that as COVID-19 protocols change there is possibility that our event may need to be cancelled. If we have to cancel we will refund all event fees via Eventbrite, less the Eventbrite fee. (this does not include any travel costs you may incur). In the mean time we will update you as best we can as protocols and rules change based on the current conditions.

I am aware that participating in the Campbell River Salmon Festival & Highland Games (the “Event”) involves the potential for risks, dangers and hazards, including but not limited to:
(a) injury to myself / my child as a result of the physical nature of dance competition and performance; and
(b) the taking and/or release of unauthorized photographs, video and/or other recordings of myself and/or my child, notwithstanding efforts to enforce Event policies.
In consideration of my / my child’s participation in the Event and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, I hereby WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS against ScotDance Canada, its directors, agents, employees, executive members, volunteers and organizers of the Event (the “Releasees”), which I now have, or hereafter may have against the Releasees. In particular, but without limiting the foregoing, I agree to release the Releasees from ANY AND ALL LIABILITY for any loss, damage, injury, or expense I / my child may incur as a result of my / my child’s participation in or attendance at the Event. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY OR EXPENSE, including legal costs, that the Releasees may incur due to my / my child’s participation in or attendance at the Event, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, and whether caused to my child or otherwise. I understand that the Releasees will photograph and otherwise record the Event, its participants and attendees. I consent to and authorize such recording. I further consent to and authorize the Releasees to publish my/my child’s image, likeness and information in any medium, including but not limited to photographs, videos, DVDs, and web-casts. I understand that this publication will take place in the public domain, including in printed materials, public announcements, and on the internet.
I specifically consent to the public release of the following information: 1. Name; 2. City, Province, Country of Residence; 3. Tartan; 4. Age; 5. Results.
I acknowledge that by signing and submitting this entry, electronically or otherwise, that I have read this agreement carefully and fully understand it, and agree to all of the above terms and conditions.
Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/Covid-19
This waiver & declaration must be completed prior to or upon visiting Nunn’s Creek Park and before participating in any activity.
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is known to spread mainly by contact from person to person. Consequently, local, provincial and federal governmental authorities recommend various measures and prohibit a variety of behaviors, in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association and ScotDance Canada and its members commit themselves to comply with the requirements and recommendations of National, Provincial and local Public health and other governmental authorities, and to put in place and adopt all necessary measures to that effect. However, Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association and ScotDance Canada cannot guarantee that you (or your child, if participant is a minor/ or the person you are the legal guardian of) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending the Activities could increase your (or your child, if participant is a minor/ or the person you are the legal guardian of) risk of contracting COVID-19, despite all preventative measures put in place.

By signing this document,
I acknowledge the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and I voluntarily assume the risk that I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) could be exposed or infected by COVID-19 by participating in Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada’s activities. Being exposed or infected by COVID-19 may particularly lead to injuries, diseases or other illnesses.
I declare that I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) am participating voluntarily in Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada’s activities.
I declare that neither I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) nor anyone in my household, have experienced in the last 48 hours prior to the date of Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada, cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing).
I declare that neither I (or my child, if participant is a minor/or the person I am the legal guardian of) have tested positive for COVID-19, and have not yet been cleared to discontinue isolation in accordance with applicable criteria communicated by public health officials (awaiting results); have been in close contact with a person who, to my knowledge, had symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19, and have not yet been cleared to discontinue isolation in accordance with applicable criteria communicated by public health officials; or am currently subject to a quarantine or self-isolation order for any reason, including travel.
I (or my child, if participant is a minor/or the person I am the legal guardian of) declare that I have not been required to self-isolate except for essential school or work activities in the last 10 days.
If I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) experience, or if anyone in my household experiences any cold or flu-like symptoms after submitting this declaration, I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) will not attend any of Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada’s activities, programs or services until no longer required to self-isolate or for 48 hours after symptoms resolve whichever is longer.
I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) agree to the requirements and recommendations of National, Provincial and local Public health and other governmental authorities and to those special safety regulations put in place by Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada as it pertains the Covid-19 Coronavirus and to adopt all necessary measures to those effects.
I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of) agree that, by filling out and signing this waiver and agreeing to the terms and conditions set out in it, I am giving up my legal rights to sue Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada and its officers and directors, in the event that I (or my child, if participant is a minor/ or the person I am the legal guardian of), contracts the Covid-19 Coronavirus.
This document will remain in effect until Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada, as per the direction of the National, Provincial and local Public health and other governmental authorities, determines that the acknowledgments in this declaration are no longer required.
This document is in addition to and does not replace all other Mt. Waddington Highland Dancing Association/ScotDance Canada waivers.
I HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THIS DOCUMENT FREELY AND WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE.
