Event description
Mount Vernon Triangle has launched a new volunteer program called MVT GroundWorks, a great way to give back while connecting with neighbors.

About this Event

Looking to sink your hands into the soil as a volunteer in MVT? We are excited to welcome individuals, families* and groups as volunteers for a gardening project on Saturday, July 27 from 9am-Noon. Our first initiative will take place at Plaza West, an intergenerational housing development featuring family and senior housing. The “grandfamily” component of the project has 50 units reserved for grandparents who are raising the children of family members who, for a variety of reasons, are not able to do so themselves. For this project, volunteers will revitalize the landscaping around the exterior of the building in support of providing a more welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere to Plaza West residents. The MVT CID will provide water and light snacks, but please be sure to wear sunscreen and closed toe shoes at the volunteer event. We recommend bringing gardening gloves if you have them! Volunteers will also be asked prior to the event to sign a waiver regarding liability and photography of participants.

*Children below the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
