Mustard and Infused Vinegars Sunday March 17th

Mustard and Flavored Vinegar
Making your own mustard and flavored vinegar is easier than you think, and it's also economical. Flavored vinegars can transform a salad, marinade, or even soup into something special. And mustard, well--it needs no introduction! Both lend themselves well to additions of fruit, herbs, spices, or all three, allowing you to get really creative with your flavor combinations.
In this class Kelly McVicker of McVicker Pickles will show you how to make your own Ginger-Garlic Mustard from scratch. We'll then experiment with flavored vinegars, and each student will get to decide what flavors they want to include in their concoction.
Since your creations will need to steep for a while to achieve maximum flavor awesomeness, we'll have plenty of finished jars on hand for in-class sampling. As we do our taste testing, Kelly will talk about the joys and challenges of running a one-woman food business, and offer tips on launching your own for those who are dreaming in that direction.
You'll walk away from class with one jar of mustard and one flavored vinegar. Once you learn the basics in this class, you'll be able to experiment at home and make up your own combinations. Imagine how fancy you'll look rolling up to your next dinner party with your own signature mustard or vinegar in hand!
