Mustachio Bull Bashio
Sat, April 1, 2017, 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM CDT
Once upon a time, there was a young cow hand named Ladden Ledbetter. Ladden dreamed of buckles, bulls, and the cowboy way like most you cowboys do. However, Ladden was no ordinary cowboy, young Ladden dreamed of mustaches as well. Beautifully crafted mustaches took time and patience to grow and style. They were to be respected. It is known that boys do not possess the qualities to maintain and grow such mustaches, no these mustaches belonged only to real men, to cowboys.
As young Ladden grew and the years passed by, he acquired many interests including music, whiskey, and women but at the end of each day our friend Ladden still only dreamed of two things: riding bulls and growing mustaches. One night while Ladden was taken in a deep slumber, a mustached angel came to him and whispered “Mustachio Bull Bashio.” Ladden woke with a start, flicked on the lamp and the Mustachio Bull Bashio was born.
Ladden worked day and night on his vision. Finally, in May 2011 he was able to see his dream come to life during the first annual Mustachio Bull Bashio in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. For the next three years Ladden’s Mustachio Bull Bashio would take hold of the old Stockyards. World Champions, rookies, and has-beens would flock to this event every year to try to win the open bull riding, the best mustache contest, the best dress contest, or the title of all-around Mustachio Bull Bashio Champion.
Unfortunately in 2014, life just seemed to get in the way and the Mustachio Bull Bashio became just a fond memory. Ladden never quit dreaming of the Mustachio Bull Bashio. It was the culmination of his passions combined, how could he? That is why when Cole Pierce and myself, Nicole Jaffe, approached Ladden about bringing the ‘stache back, Ladden was onboard.
On May 30th, 2015, it was an honor to be apart of the Mustachio Bull Bashio's rise from the dead! We changed things up a bit by bringing it to the cowboy capital of the world, Stephenville, Texas and my oh my what a beautiful union that was. My friends, this is an unforgettable event you don’t want to miss. We’ve come to you because we want you to join us on this adventure. We need your help to make sure we, our children, and our children’s children never have to live in a world without the Mustachio Bull Bashio ever again. Buy tickets, t-shirts, and tanks to support the one and only Mustachio Bull Bashio! Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Erath County Veterans.
