Description

This is the first ever Muslims of the World convention where we tackle hot topics from some of the most well known Muslims scholars and speakers in the country. We dive into discussions about Racism, Prophet Muhammad pbuh, LGBTQ, Women in Islam and other topics from a Muslim perspective by qualified scholars. Some talks will be geared towards parents and some will be geared towards the youth so bring family! Hot topics, activities during the day, matrimonial event, shopping at the bazaar, and each night will end with a main event. The main events have been carefully crafted with an Islamic lecture by a keynote speaker, humor and entertainment! Don't miss out!

Help us make history by putting on the first ever Muslims of the World Convention on October 12th and 13th. Muslims of the World Inc. is a registered 501c3 with the goal of breaking barriers, bringing people of diverse backgrounds together and showing the beauty of Islam.

Imam Siraj Wahhaj

World renowned African American Imam from Brooklyn New York. His popularity came from his charming talks where he moves and shakes the crowd to the core. He was the former vice president of Islamic Society of North America, commonly referred to as ISNA. He is a crowd favorite at ISNA and ICNA conventions and Muslims of the World is excited to have him as our keynote speaker for the main event.


Omar Offendum

Omar Offendum is a Syrian-American rapper / spoken word artist living in Los Angeles. Known for his unique blend of Hip-Hop & Arabic poetry, he’s been featured on prominent world news outlets, lectured at a number of prestigious academic institutions, collaborated with major museums & cultural organizations, and helped raise millions of dollars for various humanitarian relief groups. A graduate of the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture, he’s been able to carve a distinct path for himself as a thoughtful entertainer / activist able to speak to a multitude of relevant issues & diverse global audiences over the course of his decade-long career. Offendum was recently named a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow for 2018-2019


Dr. Salah Al-sawy

Dr. Salah Al-sawy is an Egyptian born in Fazarah village. He completed his bachelor degree in the faculty of Legislation and Law in Al Azhar University and earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Religious Sciences at the faculty of Legislation and Law. He earned his degree with distinction and the highest level honors. The Sheikh participated in many Islamic conferences about Islamic da’wah in general and particularly in the field of the scientific miracle in Qur’an and Sunnah in Saudi Arabia, Cairo, Islamabad, Britain, America, Kenya, Senegal, and other world countries. He was one of the most popular Arabic speaking scholars in the country and we are honored to have him as a guest speaker.

Imam Ahmed Alamine

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia to a father who is an Imam and Professor of Islamic Studies in the Islamic University of Niger. He earned his Bachelor's in Sharia and Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Niger, Masters in Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking from Yarmouk University of Jordan, and MBA from Franklin University in Columbus Ohio. He is the first and only Muslim Police Chaplain with Indianapolis Police Department, and he is also a Chaplain with Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He is a Board member of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation. Imam Ahmed has local, national, and international interfaith efforts. As a result of his interfaith work, he was a signatory on the historical Washington Declaration to support religious minorities around the world.


Rabia De Latour

Rabia de Latour, MD is a double board-certified gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopist who specializes in pancreaticobiliary disorders, interventional, bariatric and luminal endoscopy. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and the acting director of endoscopy at Bellevue Hospital. She received her training from Cornell University, Stony Brook SOM, and NYU. She has a passion for sustainability and founded the Clinician Sustainability Advisory Board focused on improving the carbon footprint of the hospital through reducing waste, recycling non-soiled products and donating unused medical supplies and devices to charity. She also has a strong interest in global health and has had the opportunity to work in hospitals in Istanbul, Turkey as well as Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.


Fadia Ayoubi

Fadia Ayoubi is an expert in the Arabic language and Quranic studies, and holds an Ijazah in Tajweed. She received her BA in Arabic Language and Comparative Literature from Damascus University. Soon after, she relocated to the US with her family, where she continued her studies, receiving her Masters degree in Arabic language, and developed her passion for teaching. She has volunteered her time for decades to the Muslim American community, first in Indiana and now in the DC area. Fadia currently serves as an Arabic instructor. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending her free time with her family, including 7 children and 17 grandchildren.


Amer Zahr

Amer Zahr is a Palestinian-American comedian, writer, filmmaker, political activist, and adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He was born in Jordan to refugee parents of Palestinian heritage originally from Nazareth and then moved to the United States when he was three years old. His humor centered around the Muslim community will have you laughing till your stoamch hurts. One of the most popular Muslim comedians in the US, we are happy to have him as part of the main event for our first ever Muslims of the World Convention.


Dr. Craig Condsidine

A Sociologist at Rice University, author of four book on Christian and Muslim relations, an internatioally recognized spaker and award winning teaecher. His next book, Islam in America: Exploring the Issues (ABC-CLIO, July 2019), is a reference work that provides an objective synthesis of information regarding the historical and contemporary placement of Islamic concepts and traditions in the United States. His previous book, Muslims in America: Examining the Facts (ABC-CLIO, 2018), explores the veracity of controversial claims and beliefs surrounding U.S. Muslims and critically examines some of the leading social and political narratives coming out of the Islamophobia industry. He has gained much populairty in the Muslim community for his social media posts that have amassesd hundreds of thousands of likes and comments showing the beauty of Prophet Muhammad pbuh (instagram: drcraigconsidine) . He has become a voice for the Muslims and for that we are honored to have him as a main speaker for our Muslims of the World convention.


Sajjad Shah

Sajjad Shah is the founder of Muslims of the World. He started this organization four years ago when he saw the rise in Islamophobia. His goal with this organization was to show the beauty of Islam and Muslims through storytelling and talks. Muslims of the World is now one of the most well known Muslim non profits in the world and has raised millions of dollars for charities across the globe. Sajjad is the founder of Shah and Co. LLC which grows start up companies. He serves on the Board of Al Huda Foundation and is a consultant to several Muslim charities. He is the head of marketing for Minder, one of the most downloaded Muslims apps in the world and spends most of his time traveling and exploring the world. He is passionate about elevating the Muslim community. His Muslims of the World book launches became popular all across the country as he uses humor, facts and statistics to show the dangers of Islamophobia and a solution on how to prevent it. At this Muslims of the World convention he will be presenting with his co-author and you won't want to miss this presentation.


Sohail Qureshi

SQ is an Islamic motivational speaker who’s mission is to help people revive their emaan. SQ’s unconventional style of speaking & focus on taboo topics which are impacting Muslims daily has allowed him to help & influence thousands of Muslims daily. SQ focuses on helping people establish a stronger & deeper connection with their Creator all while showing his audience how Islam can be integrated in their everyday life; by using his social media platform “WAYOFLIFESQ”.

Rafiq Faiz

Rafiq Faiz is a trained Islamic scholar who has immense knowledge of the Arabic language along with Arabic literature and various other traditional Islamic sciences including Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir), Hadith, and Fiqh. He is currently enrolled at Darul Qasim in Glendale Heights, Illinois training to become a Muftī. He recently came back to America from studying in Medina for a one year intensive in Islamic Studies. A powerful speaker, we are honored and excited to have Rafiq Faiz with us at the first ever Muslims of the World Convention.


Dr. Khizer Khaderi

World renowned Ophthalmologist with sub-specialization in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Orbital surgery. Domain expertise in visual psychophysics, wearables, VR/AR/MxR, applied neuroscience, human factors, human-machine interaction and AI. Adjunct Associate Professor at Stanford University and Head of the Stanford Performance Vision Center. Advisor to multiple companies including Magic Leap and member of global think tanks including the Global Glaucoma Academy. Khizer will be speaking on our entrepreneurship panel during the convention giving tips on how to build a business and think outside the box. We are honored to have him at our first convention.


Amal Kassir

Syrian American international spoken word poet who started as a waitress at her family's restaurant in Denver, CO. She has performed in 13 countries, and over five dozen cities. She has lectured, performed poetry and taught workshops in venues ranging from orphanages to refugee camps to youth prisons to churches to city sidewalks to the United Nations. Her work is heavily influenced by the war in Syria, her experience as a minority in the United States, and the plight of the oppressed all over the world. She designed her own undergraduate major, titled Community Programming in Social Psychology, where she has been able to create programs for a range of causes and communities, from businesses threatened by gentrification to poetry workshops for refugee students to counter terrorism websites for the Department of Homeland Security. She envisions a world of accessibility and literacy for all, and all her efforts work towards this vision. She is working on her first book, Scud Missile Blues, due for publishing by the end of this year, Inshaallah.
