Description
Dr. King reminds us that, “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”
As the founder of the Muslim Women Speakers Movement, I am bringing together groups of women to discuss the current political environment and how the divisive politics and Islamophobia impacts our communities particularly our children and the fabric of America.
We are asking/seeking to establish three things
1. American politicians/Presidential candidates must not single out American Muslims for attack and fear mongering. American Muslims have not committed any acts of violence. CALL FOR A MORATORIUM ON MUSLIM HATE.
2. The social and professional contributions of American Muslims to be admitted and acknowledged.
3. We seek equal representation and dialogue in the media. We seek to tell America that she is wrong to judge us, blame us and shame us.
