Muslim Parenting Book Club

** We will be meeting at either the Prior Lake or Shakopee library meeting rooms. Reservations do not open until June 1st. At that time the final location(s) will be decided. We appreciate your patience. We will also provide a Zoom link to join virtually for those unable to come in person.**

Alhamdulilah, as Covid restrictions are lifting, we are excited to begin our parenting book discussion group, starting with the book Positive Parenting in the Muslim Home.

We will meet twice monthly, and discussion will be facilitated by Shannen Espelien. Shannen has been parenting for more than two decades and has read countless books on parenting and child psychology. She does not claim to be the perfect parent, but does aim to continually grow in her knowledge and abilities as a mother to four daughters.

Parents are highly encouraged to read the book at home and come with points of discussion, questions, and comments to pose to the group, but as we know the nature of the busy family, the group will be facilitated in a way that reading of the book is not absolutely necessary, in sha Allah.

Cost of this book discussion includes a copy of the paperback book we will be using.

Discussion will start at 6:30 SHARP as the libraries close at 8pm would we would like to have some time for parents to socialize after our discussion as well. Thank you for respecting everyone's time. Jazak Allah khair.

Parents are encouraged to come without children, if possible, in order to facilitate ease in free discussion and attentiveness of those who attend.
