Join us for the MUSICIANS MARCH - a Greater Toledo Hike-a-Thon to benefit

Toledo International Youth Orchestra and a charity of your choice.

Gather a team and get registered!

Once registered, we'll send you a pledge sheet to use for your own fundraising project. Add your logo to ours. Collect pledges. Donate them to any organization you wish. Everyone wins!

Be the largest team of registered hikers by midnight on September 30th and win an ADDITIONAL $100 FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION!

Registered participants at the Secor Metropark location will receive a light snack and beverage prior to the race. Start times are staggered with 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 options. Hot dogs, chips and a beverage are available as a $5 meal voucher between the hours of 11:30 and 1:30. Meal vouchers are available for pre-purchase. Early bird registrants who order a t-shirt will receive their shirt upon arrival at the check-in area on the day of the hike. Additional t-shirts, water bottles, and patches will be available for sale at the door for as long as supplies last.

 

FAQs

 

How many people can be on my team?

            There is no limit to the number of people on your team.

 

How do I set up a team?

            Be the first in your team to register. Choose “Create a Group” on the Registration page. You will need to name your team and provide your email address. This allows you to become the official team “manager”.

 

How do other people register as part of my team/group?

            When other team members are ready to register, they choose the “Join a Group” link. They will need to know your team name, so be sure you have communicated your team name prior to registration. Unfortunately there is not a dropdown feature for all team names. Your team will need to enter several letters of your team name before choices pop up in a dropdown.

 

How is the “largest team” determined for awarding of the $100 prize?

            Team members must be registered to your team through Eventbrite no later than midnight September 30, 2017.

 

One of my team members registered for the March as an individual. How do I make them a team member?

            Email the following information to tiyoinfo@gmail.com: The team member’s name; the date they registered; and your team name. No changes to team membership will be made after September 30, 2017.

 

A friend wants to come along at the last minute. Can I add him/her to my team on the day of the hike?

            We’re happy to register additional walkers on the day of the event using a credit or debit card. NO CASH can be accepted on park grounds. Any last-minute team members do not count in the final group size for prize purposes.

 

How does my team earn money toward our own charity of choice?

            After registering with your team, each team member will receive an email confirmation. Included with the confirmation is a link to a pledge sheet. How you choose to utilize the pledge sheet is up to you. Pledges may be per mile, per loop, or for the entire hike. However you choose to use them, you will collect the pledges, collect the proceeds, and forward the proceeds yourself to the charitable organization of your choice. Money collected through pledge sheets is not the responsibility of TIYO.

 

Why would we choose to hike if we can just collect pledges ourselves?

            Because being part of something “bigger” is FUN! It motivates donors, builds energy among team members, and incentivizes giving. Donors love to know that their support is helping the community in multiple ways.

 

Why are their two different prices for Early Bird Registration?

            In order to build team pride, we’re offering t-shirts that display the Musicians March logo. We know, though, that some teams will want to wear their own shirts in order to highlight their own team spirit, charity, or organization. While we’re super excited to see teams in Musicans March shirts, we want to be flexible on this option. It’s all about team pride!

 

I missed Early Bird Registration. Is it too late to purchase a Musicians March t-shirt?

            A limited number of t-shirts will be available on the day of the event. NO CASH can be accepted on the park grounds, so bring a credit or debit card.

Where do I park on the morning of the Musicians March hike?

            There is limited parking at Secor Metropark, the site of the walk. We have staggered start times to accommodate parking needs. We also strongly suggest that teams carpool in order to maximize parking availability.

 

What should my team members bring with them?

            We recommend bringing a print out of your registration confirmation. Show off your team pride with your t-shirt. Heck, WEAR COSTUMES! Layer on the BLING! It’s October, after all! Choose comfortable walking shoes and dress for weather. The hike is rain or shine, so be prepared for any possibility. Some team members may want to use insect repellant and/or sunscreen prior to hiking. Strollers, wagons or other ambulatory supports are welcome.

 

Will refreshments be available?

            All registered team members will be provided with a light snack and beverage prior to the hike. These can be consumed prior to walking, carried along the path, or saved for later. PLEASE DISPOSE OF WASTE IN PROPER CONTAINERS. We respectfully ask that no litter be dropped along the park pathway during the hike. In addition, reusable water bottles will be on sale for as long as supplies last. Hot dogs, chips and beverage are also available for $5 between the hours of 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. If interested in this option, please pre-order the meal voucher when registering on Eventbrite.

 

Can I just pay for a t-shirt, water bottle and/or meal voucher that day at the park?

            Yes, but NO CASH can be accepted on the park grounds. If opting to make a purchase on the day of the event, please be prepared with a credit or debit card.
