About this event
Lys Guillorn: Lys Guillorn is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and stylistic shape-shifter who has two full-length studio records, an oddities collection, and a couple of EPs and singles on Little Cowgirl Records. In 2018, Guillorn won CT Now’s Best of Hartford Readers Poll for Best Singer-Songwriter. Their most recent single is called “Dolores & I,” released on the 2020 compilation Waiting on a Sunrise Vol. 1.
Kelly Kancyr: At the rebellious age of 8, Kelly Kancyr turned her first instrument—the violin—(her mother's choice) into a guitar, playing it like a distorted Les Paul. Learning in that moment that musical instruments don’t have to be played in a traditional way; a philosophy that lies at the heart of her style.
Drawn to wide array of genres, Kelly finds she can change musical stylings as easily as she has moved around the world. Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and Lucinda Williams, are just some of the influences echoing as undercurrents to her songs. In her vintage folk rhythms and emotionally raw lyrics, you can hear both the wide open spaces of Santa Fe, and the rocky beaches of the east coast.
Lisa Roberts: Picked up the ukulele for the first time at the end of August and fell in love. She sang and studied piano as a child & teenager, spent countless hours in musical theater, but hasn’t been on stage in over 20 years, unless you count karaoke or lullabies to her daughter.
She’s influenced by folk, punk, and indie music & loves covers that cross genres. She was inspired to get back into music by the amazing local talent & is genuinely ecstatic to be asked to join.
Sarah Dunn: Sarah Dunn is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Their solo EP debuted this year, with an adjacent, full-length project due in 2023. They write in a vulnerable, specific, and deeply personal voice. Sarah also plays bass in the femme punk band Corpse Flower, and plays fiddle in the traditional Irish music group, The Alehounds.
