Music Town Hall Meeting
Event Information
Description
We want to hear from you!
All too often, artists do not have a seat at the table when decisions are being made. Let's change that! Fringe Music employs individual curators to program music events and concerts, centering diverse and authentic musical experiences freed from a profit-centered model. Continuing the legacy of supporting DC’s vibrant DIY music scene, we want to hear from you about how to expand this program, especially from the musical community!
All musicians and music curators are invited to join us at the Music Town Hall meeting to learn about the Logan Fringe Art Space renovated space to help inform the evolution of programs offered.
We will kick off the new year by listening and communicating through a series of town hall meetings and strategic focus groups. These will be held from January - April 2019. Data will be collected and disseminated at the end of the process through a public report. We will collect your input and discuss your thoughts on our newly proposed programs, and what we can do to further support the visual arts, theatre, music, and culinary arts community.
The discussion will focus on expanding music booking opportunities, practice space, and the new program listed below.
Artistic Associates – five-year program for artists across all disciplines. The program provides companies, and/or ensembles, individual artists and collaborators, time, guidance, mentors, infrastructure and space to present or incubate their work or practice.
RSVP is required to attend. If you're unable to attend after reserving a spot, please let us know as space is limited!
The Logan Fringe Arts Space was established in 2014 as the permanent home of the annual Capital Fringe Festival, which has been programming throughout the city since 2006. The Fringe has organically thrived and diversified the ways in which we support the local creative and artistic community. The guiding principle of the Logan is to support artists and creatives at all different stages and from all disciplines from developing to the presentation of their work.
