Description

This all-day event will include two CMTE opportunities:

- Ethics and the Internet: presented by Elizabeth Haley, MS, MT-BC, FAMI and Carmen Osburn, MA, MT-BC

  • This CMTE will fulfill three (3) hours of Ethics CMTE credits as required by CBMT.
  • How do music therapists practice ethical behavior on the internet? This presentation will discuss different ethical challenges related to social media, telemedicine, and their impacts on professional relationships.

- Advocacy Skills for Today's Music Therapist: presented by Kimberly Sena Moore, PhD, MT-BC

  • This 5-credit CMTE presentation will provide participants with a working knowledge of the music therapy advocacy process.
  • Participants will learn the skills needed to successfully communicate with state legislators and agency staff.

Schedule:

  • 8:30 am to 9:00 am Registration
  • 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Ethics and the Internet (with 15-minute break)
  • 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Lunch (included)
  • 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Advocacy Skills for Today's Music Therapist (with 3 15-minute breaks)


CMTE Fee: $25 for professionals, free for students with ID

Lunch: box lunches will be provided for $10 or on your own ***must RSVP if you want lunch!
