TABLA WORKSHOP - This workshop provides an introduction to both the theory and presentation Indian Classical Music and its various other forms. An overview of various compositions, general improvising concept, creating patterns and phrases, mathematics, calculations and progression with rhythm will be discussed and presented.

ABOUT HINDOLE MAJUMDAR:

Hindole Majumdar occupies a commendable position amongst the young tabla players of his generation. Hindole performs all over the globe accompanying various artists, and his work and experiment is critically acclaimed by music enthusiasts all over the globe. He has accompanied illustrious musicians of Indian Classical music like Ustad Shahid Parvez, Dr. N Rajam, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and many others. He has collaborated with world music percussionists like Doyra player Abbos Kosimov, four time Grammy award winner Glenn Velez, and world renowned Mridangam exponent Legendary Trichy Sankaran. Hindole has founded the Hindole Majumdar School of Music and Dance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in USA where he teaches Tabla and Indian Rhythm on a regular basis. He has also numerous CD’s audio and video albums released by various record companies including his own record label Sunanda Records.

SITAR WORKSHOP - This workshop will cover the topic of theory and presentation of Sitar. Students will explore topics related to different forms of instrumental music, science behind the Indian Music, positioning of hand, compositions, techniques, ear training, and various rhythms will be discussed and presented.

ABOUT RAJIB KARMAKAR:

Rajib Karmakar one of India's best and internationally acclaimed Sitar performers, and is well known for the unconventional diverse playing styles, spiritual intensity and the esoteric depth of traditional and classical music that he brings to the stage. Rajib has been performing in India and abroad including USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland performing for Ministry of Spain(Spain), Ottawa Council for Arts(Canada), Ganesh Mahotsav(India), Boom Festival(Portugal), Deutsch Indische Gesellschaft(Germany), Festival of India(USA and Canada), Festival Papillotes(France), Harbourfront Summer Series(Canada), NAMM (USA), Theatre Rogue Du Conservatoire(Canada), National Arts Center(Canada) Tropical Heatwave Festival(USA), Straz Center(USA) , Castello Di Romeo(Italy), Disney (USA, PASIC (Indianapolis) and many more. He has been teaching Indian Music all over India, USA, Canada and Europe and has worked as a faculty for Indian Music for various schools and organizations like Center for World Music(USA), Harvard University(USA), Brandeis University(USA) to name a few. His pursuit of excellent has been revered in several publications.
