Music & Memory: The Power to Combat Dementia with Marja Kaisla - A Friends of the Chestnut Hill Library 2019 Speaker Series Event

About this Event

Studies prove that playing and listening to music counteracts negative effects of aging, such as memory loss, hearing loss and other sensory difficulties, social functioning and sense of identity.

Concert pianist and educational expert Marja Kaisla with extensive experience in teaching older adults will talk about the latest research in the importance of engaging in musical activity to improve memory and processing speed, and how music leads to increased activity on both sides of the brain.
