Music for Spring Concert 9th April 2011

The talented young soprano, Nelleke Ladipo is presenting a choral concert with treble Thomas Parfitt, flautist Jessica Ferguson and organist Antony Baldwin. The concert will be a mixture of classical pieces, including pieces by Bach, Pergolesi and Schubert, contrasted with numbers by Rogers and Gershwin.
Nelleke is currently studying at Wells Cathedral School where she was a chorister until 2009. She now sings with the chapel choir at Wells and the National Youth choir. Nelleke's distringuished career includes performances for the Countesses of Wessex and Cornwall; recordings of CDs for Hyperion and Region record companies; singing at the funeral of Harry Patch; and touring with the choir to France and Germany.
Nelleke has a gorgeous soprano voice, and is an extremely musical interpreter of songs. She is looking for opportunities to gain experience and widen her repertoire as a soprano singer, and regularly accepts engagements to sing at weddings and memorial services. Nelleke is joined by other talented young artistes:
Thomas Parfitt: is a pupil of Dulwich College where he is a regular soloist at the Chapel Choir. He is a member of the National Youth Choir and plays the piano and oboe. Previous engagements include the role of Young Nicholas in Britten's St Nicholas.
Jessica Ferguson: has been playing the flute for eight years. She is a member of the Mid-Hertfordshire Senior Concert Band where she is the first flute. She regularly performs at concerts and has performed many solos.
Ijeoma Mbubaegbu: studied music at Brunel University, specialising in classical piano and early keyboard. As well as a busy teaching practice, Ijeoma is assistant Musical Director for Youth Music Theatre UK studio and accompanist at two churches.
