Presented in partnership with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts

Registration and networking starts at 6:30.

Seminar takes place in the AT&T meeting room at The Long Center.

Certified for 2.5 hours CLE by the State Bar of Texas.

Content on Oct 30 will include:

Band Business Nuts and Bolts will include bank accounts, bookkeeping, taxes, health coverage and insurance coverage. Staying Healthy: HAAM and SIMS Foundation Guest Speakers: Jennifer Stowe, Director of Services, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and Jennifer Vocelka, Clinician, SIMS Foundation.

Special Guest:

David Lowery, of Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven and editor of The Trichordist, on artist rights.

David Lowery is a singer/songwriter and guitarist for the legendary alternative/indie bands Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven. These two bands have sold over a million records and had a dozen modern rock hits. David is also a record producer whose credits include The Counting Crows, Jason Molina, Magnolia Electric Company, Lucero, Sparklehorse, and more. In February 2011, 429/Savoy Records released his first solo record “The Palace Guards”.

David has started a large number of music related businesses, including a studio, a record label, and publishing company. His extensive experience in business and the music industry has led to his appointment as a lecturer in the University of Georgia’s music business program.
