Mushroom Innoculation Class
This hands-on class will cover several different inoculation techniques including plugged logs, sterilized straw in bags and open garden wood-chip mushroom beds. Participants will learn how to select mushroom strains for different techniques, create the ideal environment for fungal fruiting and harvest and store their bounty. Participants will go home with a mushroom log and a bagged mushroom habitat. About our facilitator Jared Urchek: Jared Urchek, L.Ac, M.Ac, CZB, is a practitioner of Chinese medicine, focusing in Five-Element acupuncture and the use of medicinal mushrooms. Both acupuncture and medicinal mushrooms have been used for thousands of years as premier medicines for the body, mind, and spirit, and Jared is excited to share the medicine and knowledge that these traditions bring. Beginning his fungal studies through a basic permaculture course, he furthered his studies through Paul Stamets’ mushroom cultivation and myco-remediation courses. Building off from his acupuncture practice in College Park and Bethesda, MD, he is now offering an expanding line of mushroom products and classes in the DC/Maryland area. Please register at least a week before the event for planning purposes.
