By grounding in the intent and implications of the 2016 Massachusetts Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Curriculum Framework, we will explore the Science & Engineering Practices and phenomena-based science learning. The Museum exhibits and programs offer a unique opportunity to see these practices and phenomena in action. After considering where and how these ideas come alive within the Museum, we will unpack this learning as it relates to school-based learning. Time will be allotted for developing an actionable plan to incorporate these understandings into your classroom practice. Participants will be asked to share their actions plans as evidence of their learning. School or district-based pairs or teams are encouraged to work together.
Participants will receive a $150 stipend for this training. We will validate parking if you choose to drive to the Museum. Lunch will be provided for workshop participants.
8:00 am- 8:30 am EST: Workshop check-in (Museum of Science lobby)
8:30 am - 3:00 pm EST: Professional Development Retreat
