Event description

Description

Craven Museum & Gallery is offering a free one day conference to share learning with other museums, galleries and heritage organisations to inspire new ways of thinking about resilience in the sector.

The free event is the culmination of the Arts Council funded Museum: Indispensable project and is open to all who work in the arts & heritage sector. Friday 11th August, 10.15-4.30pm. Registration and welcome refreshments will be at 9.30-10.15am.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided to all attendees.

Any enquiries please email mhickes@cravendc.gov.uk

The day will be informative, providing forward-thinking workshops and presentations exploring two key elements of the resilience project at Craven Museum & Gallery. Hear from experienced practitioners in the cultural sector that Craven Museum & Gallery have worked in partnership with; exploring engagement of new groups within your community, the positive impact museum collections can have in working toward improving the health and wellbeing of the community and how as an organisation you can look to build sustainability strategies into future plans.

Through sharing practice, ideas and resources from the resilience project, there will be chance to look at practical ways that museums can change and adapt to embed themselves further into their local community and build resilience in an often challenging climate. Our aim is that by the end of the event you will leave with ideas and advice relevant to your organisation and with knowledge of how you can start taking steps to build on your own resilience.

Speakers and workshops:
