Museum Education Workshop
Presented by the Kentucky Museum and Heritage Alliance
In association with the Downing Museum, South Union Shaker Village and The Brown-Pusey House.
Join us for a day-long workshop at the beautiful Downing Museum as we explore the subject of museum education. Our institutional success is intimately tied to our ability to educate our communities. This day will provide an opportunity to think about the importance of the subject, while discussing with colleagues who work in a variety of disciplines, including history, art and environmental education.
Topics include:
- Museum Education 101
- State of the Museum Education Field
- Panel Discussion of Case Studies
- Implementation and Training
Registration Cost:
- KMHA members: $15
- Non-members: $25
Due to the generosity of South Union Shaker Village and the Brown-Pusey House, we have 4 complimentary registrations available for students interested in learning more about this subject, and for individuals who volunteer at a museum. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Aaron Genton (agenton@shakervillageky.org) if you are interested in this.
Lunch is included in registration fee. Please specify which option you would like (ham, turkey, vegetarian) when you register. For special dietary concerns, please contact Aaron Genton (agenton@shakervillageky.org).
