Description

March 31 event is Cancelled and tentatively rescheduled for April 28 due to Coronavirus. We will update this page as needed. If you are interested in attending, you can register and receive email updates if we make any further adjustments in the event timing. Stay safe!

Murrieta Genomics invites you to our March "Lunch'n'Learn" at the University of California Riverside's new Multidisciplinary Research Building! Learn about how genomic advancements and discoveries are changing the agriculture, human health, and other critical areas of research.

This month's topic will be Gene Assembly and features NRGene, whose team has successfully assembled over 400 genomes of various species. Encompassing varying levels of complexity and ploidy, NRGene has assembled some of the most challenging genomes, such as hexaploid wheat and the heterozygous octoploid strawberry.

NRGene is a Genomics company that provides turn-key solutions. Relying on a vast proprietary database and AI-based technologies, they provide the largest seed and food companies in the world with the computational tools they need to maximize their crop yield, significantly saving them time and cost. NRGene’s tools have already been implemented by some of the leading agribiotech companies worldwide, as well as the most influential research teams in academia.

Murrieta Genomics is a member of UCR's Wet Lab Incubator and wants to work with entrepreneurs, scientists, students and others who want to transform genomic ideas into commercial opportunities. We want to help get the great research being done out of the lab and into the world!

We will be holding these Lunch'n'Learn events on the last Tuesday of every month from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Guest speakers will include companies focused on gene assembly, data analytics, sequencing technologies, and more. The general public is invited at no cost, and lunch will be provided. Our first event was standing room only, so we must limit attendance. All attendees must register in advance.
