Description

Multidimensional Data and Co-Creation: Benefits for Government and Industry is a one day event on November 22nd 2018 to discuss the role of linked data technologies and co-creation in improving public services.

The conference is of particular relevance to policy makers and practitioners in government but also to anyone working with linked data, statistics or co-creation.

The day includes a mixture of speakers, panel discussions and plenty of opportunity to network and share ideas. It will present on technologies that enable government to use their own data in an interoperable and comparable way to international standards and on how co-creation can be used to better design and deliver services.

The Agenda for the day is as follows:

  • 8:30am - 9:30am Registration
  • 9:30 - 9:40am Introduction. Evangelos Kalampokis, Project Lead
  • 9:40 - 10:00am Overview of OpenGovIntelligence project. Dr Bill Roberts, CEO of Swirrl
  • 10:00 - 10:20am Linda van den Brink, Geo-information standards advisor @geonovum, spatial data on the Web #geo4web. Linda will be speaking about Spatial Data on the Web.
  • 10:20 - 10:40 Darren Barnes, Open Datasets Manager at the Office of National Statistics, UK. Darren will be presenting on what the Government Statistical Service landscape looks like and how multidimensional data can improve the situation for both statistical producers and users alike.
  • 10:40 - 11:10 Panel Discussion. Linda van den Brink, Darren Barnes, Gianfranco Cecconi (programme manager for the European Union's European Open Data Portal)
  • 11:10 - 11:40 Coffee Break
  • 11:45 - 12:00 Co-creation project overview. Speaker tbc
  • 12:00 - 12:20 Co-creation challenges and possibilities. Max Kortlander from Waag about his experiences of co-creation across a range of projects.
  • 12:25 - 12:55 Co-creation panel discussion. Max Kortlander, Jamie Whyte, one further panellist tbc
  • 1:00 - 2:00 Lunch. Opportunity for attendees to present posters of any related work
  • 2:00 - 2:30 Introduction to and presentation of the tools. Evangelos Kalampokis
  • 2:30 - 2:45 Overview of the OpenGovIntelligence pilots - real world benefits of using the project tools to impact public services. Sarah Roberts
  • 2:45 - 3:05 Belgian pilot in detail. Paul Hermans, CEO of Proxml
  • 3:05 - 3:35 Panel discussion of tools and pilots. Paul Hermans, Bill Roberts, further panellist tbc
