Event description
A day to build a shared understanding of social equity in the communities of Lake Oswego, West Linn, Wilsonville, Tigard, and Tualatin.

About this Event

Our cities are naturally linked through many commonalities and have begun to deepen partnerships across our local city councils, city managers, police departments, school districts, and community organizations. There has been an ever-increasing need to address diversity, equity, and inclusion within all facets of our community.

As one step in our journey toward establishing a culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion, we are holding a Multi-City Equity Summit. This summit will bring together citizens and public officials around community issues related to racism, discrimination, and exclusion. The event will seek to:

  1. Collectively deepen our understanding of how racism and discrimination are experienced in our communities.
  2. Share ways that our communities are responding to the problem in neighborhoods, schools, and the city government; and
  3. Explore ways to address these issues at the local level.

This day-long event will be held October 19, 2019. We invite citizen and business leaders, government and police representatives, school teachers and administrators, and residents of all ages who are concerned about inclusion and diversity in our communities to attend.

The Multi-City Equity Summit is intended as an event where the communities of Lake Oswego, West Linn, Tigard, Tualatin, and Wilsonville can meet and consider ways to promote equity within and between these cities.
