Come be a part of the history of the Brazilian immigrant community in New York City.

Cidadão Global is hosting the first Mulheres com Garra Award, which seeks to honor fierce Brazilian immigrant women who, through resilience and grit, have achieved success and are contributing to the community.

Please join us in awarding:

Ana Oliveira, President and CEO of the New York Women's Foundation

We will also be honoring 4 additional women whose garra (fierceness) is laying the groundwork for our community's success in New York City:

Ingrid Silva, Ballerina, Dance Theater of Harlem;

Tatiana Ribeiro, Chef, Beija-Flor Restaurant;

Nathalia Narciso, Board Chair, Cidadão Global; and

Community Builder:

Gerusa Maso, Founder and CEO, Emperial MKT Consulting

Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served, and there will be a surprise announcement.

Music by Mariana Bravo, Danilo Angelo and Fogo Azul

Menu by Beija-Flor Restaurant and Rio Market

Decoration by Krika Artisan Event Design

In addition, we have also written a book with the stories of this year's Mulheres com Garra, so we can remember the drive that is alive in our community and in all of us. If you donate here $50 or more, we will include a copy of the Mulheres com Garra 2019 book as a thank you gift.

All proceeds will go to support Cidadão Global's work with Brazilian immigrant women and girls. Cidadão Global is a 501(c)(3) non profit and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Every single dime, up to $5,000, that is raised by this fundraiser WILL BE MATCHED by our incredible supporters, the Sparkplug Foundation. So please share with your friends on Facebook and Instagram, and invite them to come to our event or donate towards it.
