Watch your child enjoy learning the essential coding skills in this age of technology! Our program offers 12 weeks of learning computer science principles, digital literacy, internet safety and Scratch programming. It really is Cool to Code!

TIMING:
After 3pm dismissal students should go directly to Mulberry middle school classroom. Extended care students will be returned to extended care at the conclusion of the session. Parents conducting pickups, we ask that you arrive promptly at the end of the session. Each session is 90 minutes long.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. How long is each session?

Twelve sessions. Each session is 90 minutes long, starting at the end of the school day. We ask that parents pick up their students promptly at the end of the program or indicate they are going to extended care.

2. What is your policy on refunds and cancellations? What if my child starts and does not like the course?

The first class is prorated. After the 1st class, there are no cancellations or refunds given unless there are extenuating circumstances. If a student misses a day, instructions to make up course work are available upon request.

3. Who are the instructors?

The instructors are college students, graduates and Masters candidates that major in computer science, engineering, math, science, psychology, English etc. They are also part-time teachers and professionals who work in computer programming, design animation and technology industries.

4. What does the 12 week course entail?

Third grade students and above are introduced to the principles of Computer Science and Computer Programming in fun, interactive and engaging ways. All curriculum aligns with AP College Board Computer Science A standards. Students will also use object (block) oriented programming languages to create games, stories and solve real world problems. Students will also be given access to an age appropriate online account so they may continue to efforts outside of class time.

5. How is the class divided?

Each class must have a minimum registration of 10 students and maximum of 20. In order to ensure all students have a positive experience, they well be divided into small collaboration groups (3 – 5 students) based on grade and ability.
