The finish and after ride party will be held at Peninsula Beach Park. Walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants, and a site offering scenic vistas including a “million dollar sunset”. The parks also offer a playground for children, a beach for swimming and bathrooms.

PARKING:

Available at BCHS and limited parking at both Peninsula Beach and Veterans Park.

DIRECTIONS:

For custom driving directions for either BCHS or Peninsula Beach Park click the links.

From I-75: Take I-75 to exit 282 (M-32) Gaylord. Follow M-32 west to US-131. Take US-131 (north) to Boyne Falls, turn west onto M-75. Follow M-75 (turns into Water Street) into Boyne City to the BCHS.

Follow Ferry Road approximately 10 miles into Boyne City. Turn left onto Lake Street then right at the Water Streetlight, then follow Water Street to the BCHS.

PACKET PICK-UP & START LOCATION:

You may pick up your packet on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Peninsula Beach Park under the tent. You may also pick up your packet on Saturday between 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the BCHS.

CUT-OFF TIMES:

In order to ensure that we get all riders off the course (especially the 200K) before nightfall, the following cut-off time will be enforced. All timing chips must be returned at Peninsula Beach Park by 7:00 p.m. If you insist on proceeding on the route beyond these cut-off times, you must show that you have night safety equipment, surrender your chip, bib number, and agree to disassociate yourself from the event.

9:00 a.m. – All riders should be on the course and chip activation will be deactivated.

7:00 p.m. – Finish line will be deactivated, SAG drivers will come off the course

REST & WATER STOPS:

There will be well-catered SAG stations every 15 – 25 miles along the route. They will be loaded with more than you can imagine.

Lunch:

There will be a large well-catered lunch or dinner (depending on when you finish) at Peninsula Beach Park from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Vegetarian options will be available.

SPECIAL NEEDS BAGS:

You can prepare special needs bags to be sent out to the various rest stops. We recommend you place your items into a large Ziploc bag with your name and the rest stop where you would like to pick it up. Bags must be dropped off by Friday between 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

CLOTHING RETURN BAGS:

If you would like to have something brought back from a venue (like a jacket, arm warmers, etc.), ask a volunteer at the Rest Station for a gallon sized Ziploc and a sharpie. Put your stuff in the bag, write your name and rider number on the bag and drop it in a bin designated for this purpose at the SAG Station. If you are done with your special needs bag and want to pick it up at the finish, drop it in this bin as well. Our shuttle driver will take it back to Peninsula Beach Park where you can claim it at the desk.Bear in mind that in some cases you could get to the park before your goods. Any bags not picked up on Saturday can be picked up on Sunday at inspired living between 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

SAG:

Support vehicles will be on course with obvious support signage. They will be carrying tools, tubes, and pumps. They can also carry you to the nearest stop if necessary. In the event you can not finish they can arrange a ride back to Peninsula Beach Park.

ROUTE UPGRADES / DOWNGRADES:

These hills will test your ability. If you would like to downgrade to a shorter distance, that’s no problem – decide out on the course. If you are used to climbs like L’Alpe d’Huez or Col du Galibier than you might want to stretch it out to the 200K. Fine with us, but be sure to tell the volunteer at chip collection which distance you rode. Please ride within your ability.

VOLUNTEERS:

This event will be run by volunteers, please smile and say thank-you, as that is the only payment they will be receiving.
