Mt. Pleasant ASIST
Event Information
Description
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.
The training will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Attendance on both days is mandatory to receive a certificate of completion.
All CommUnity Crisis Services volunteers and most staff members are trained in ASIST. We have three trainers on staff who have conducted over 60 ASIST’s combined!
A light breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided. Please include any dietary restrictions or other accommodations when you register.
CEU’s are available! Learn about CEU opportunities from LivingWorks Education
