Event description

Description

The 2018 Mt. Olivet Living History Tour is back, and this year, we're looking at some of the more Notable Nashvillians. Nashville is coming into its own as the "It" City, due largely in part to the people we'll be speaking with this year! These names include:

  • J.J. Vertrees, the lawyer in the Edward Ward Carmack murder trial
  • Confederate General Benjamin Cheatham
  • John Hugh Smith, three time Mayor of Nashville
  • Brigadier General James E. Rains
  • Sarah Polk Fall, unofficially adopted daughter of Sarah Childress Polk
  • Cornelia Fort, World War II pilot

From statehood to the modern day, Tennessee has made a strong impact on the country's history. Come hear the people involved speak about their lives and work on Sunday, October 21st.

Tours begin at 3:00pm and leave every ten minutes. The last tour leaves at 6:00pm. Tours last nearly an hour, and visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
