MSDWT Teen Musical Theater: From "Annie"-"Hamilton" - A Musical Review in a...

Joyce Click, Choir Teacher at North Central High School will serve as camp director. Dane Rogers, Area Actor and Theater Instructor for Wayne Township Theater, and Sarah Hoffman, Dance Instructor in Lawrence Township will serve as guest teachers and will once again present workshops for middle school and high school students, ages 11 -17 to improve their musical theater skills. Each day will have a different theme and focus. Students may sign-up by the day, for the fee of $25.00 or for the week for a total of $75.00. Classes will be held in the Auditorium in the J. Everett Light Career Center from 8:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m. for three days, May 31, June 1, and June 2 (Wed. - Friday). At 2:15 p.m. each day we will hold a musical performance and parents are welcome to attend as audience members so each participant will get experience singing, dancing, and acting in front of an audience. Day One: May 31: Theme-Contemporary Musicals such as Wicked and Hairspray and Hamilton
Day Two: June 1: Theme -Dramatic Musicals such as Les Miserables and Into The Woods and Frozen
Day Three: June 2: Theme -Traditional Musicals such as Sound of Music and Peter Pan and Annie
Special Bonus - On Friday, our last day of camp we will provide pizza!
8:30- 9:40 Vocal Technique and Audition Solo Preparation
9:40-10:45 - Audition Dance Preparation ( Different Style Each Day)
10:45 -11:45 - Scene Study and Dramatic Exercises
11:45 - 12:15 -Lunch - Bring your own each day!
12:15 - 12:45- Theater Games
12:45 -2:00 - Guided Rehearsal for Musical Review
2:15 - 3:00 - Performance for Audience and Critique
