Description

MSC DISSOLVED GAS STUDY SEMINAR
MAY 28, 2020

6 Professional Development Hours Available

Dissolved methane in groundwater is naturally occurring in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Currently, there is not an accepted testing methodology that achieves consistent and predictable results. Through the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s Dissolved Gas Workgroup, a multiphase study was conceived to understand the cause(s) of variability in analytical data and to develop a new testing methodology to achieve consistent and predictable dissolved gas results.

During this seminar, experts from Environmental Standards will review existing analytical methodologies, provide an in-depth review of the multiple phases of the MSC’s Dissolved Gas Study, and discuss a new analytical method for dissolved gasses that has been developed through the course of the MSC study. This new analytical method will achieve focused results and provide stakeholders with reliable and consistent data that can be used to make informed decisions. In addition, representatives from operators, accredited labs, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) will provide perspectives on how the new method will improve their businesses.
