Moving Together - Livermore | Registration & Show

With Support from the California Arts Council, Cheza Nami to produce another installation of "Moving Together" community engagement dance and drumming workshops. The first series will be in Santa Cruz. The goal of this program is to enable cross-cultural engagement between the community and local African and diaspora cultural artists. The workshops will be followed by a post-workshop performance by the Cheza Nami Ensemble and other Guest artists and their students

• Registration for the workshops is required. Open to all. Donations Appreciated
• A ticket to watch the Show on August 13th at 8PM is required. You can purchase your show ticket with your registration at the advance price of $20 or $25 at the door on 8/13
• Current Las Positas College Guidelines: Proof of COVID 19 vaccination required to enter facilities

We are incredibly humbled to honor these distinguished Master artist, cultural bearers and community leaders at our next Moving Together community engagement event in Livermore. “Mama” Naomi Gedo Diouf, Artistic Director of Diamano Coura West African Dance Company (Liberia); Mabiba Baegne, teacher, drummer, and choreographer of traditional and contemporary African dance (Congo); and Mouminatou Camara, founder of the Seewe African Dance Company and, for a decade, was the principal dancer for the world-renowned Les Ballet Africans (Guinea)
