Moving Through Stories: Grades K-2
Registration for this workshop opens on September 1, 2018.

Dive into a great book with this movement-based workshop where you will explore movement and kinesthetic learning experiences through children’s literature. In this workshop, attendees will explore the elements of dance and how they can be used in tandem with children's literature to actively engage students and reach higher levels of thinking. Participants will also explore a variety of strategies and prompts that can be utilized when reading and unpacking stories with grades K-2. Each attendee will receive a FREE copy of the book used during this workshop! 

Relicensure hours are available for licensed educators.

Light snacks will be provided.  Parking on campus is free after 4 pm.

About the Presenter, Kelly Bruce Glynn 

 

Kelly Bruce Glynn is a dedicated educator and passionate arts advocate based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Utah in 2015, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2012. She also holds a Secondary Dance Education License with a K-12 Extension. During her time in academia, she received numerous awards and accolades which honored her commitment to the arts.

Kelly was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she began her formal dance training at a young age. She has been working in dance education for eight years, and has spent the past 3 years teaching with the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program in Canyons School District. Throughout her career as a dance artist and educator, she has presented and taught for school districts, universities, and non-profit organizations both nationally and internationally.

The Collaborative hosts an annual Arts Integration Conference and supports the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program–a statewide K-6 arts integration program.
