About this Event

Denison's Department of Dance presents Moving Resiliency: A Screendance Festival.

Under the cloud of covid restrictions, Denison dance students continued to produce exciting aesthetic and cultural work both in and out of class, even when isolated, out in the elements, or relegated to the screen.  This Screendance Festival represents our work from last semester, Fall 2020, that we share with excitement and love for "keep on keepin' on."

Friday night's "short" program features six 5-minute dances that were created in response to classroom assignments and summer scholar research.  The program will run twice, starting at 7pm and 8pm.

Saturday night's "long" program  features Spiral Fourteen: a dance for the camera. This 70-minute work highlights the fourteen ensemble members of Molly Shanahan's Contemporary Dance and Performance course and celebrates the dancers' resiliency during the Covid-19 era.  Audiences are offered a glimpse into the dancers' day to day movement research, including performances of BRANCH at the Bio Reserve

This event is open to Denison Students, Faculty and Staff and is in the Eisner Center, Sharon Martin Hall. Advanced tickets required.
