Event description
Moving Our Nature is a deep inquiry into the essence of your body, mind and spirit using the authentic power of dance.

About this Event

You will experience a full, spacious day of moving, sensing and being in the flow.

As the dance community in Tauranga and Aotearoa grows we feel it necessary to hold a space where everyone can drop a little deeper into the dance. Integration and wholeness are values close to our hearts and practice. We will provide a supportive, safe, fun and open environment exploring a number of embodied modalities.

Two shared group ecstatic dance experiences will unbind and unburden the accumulated experiences in your body that hinder your natural flow and creative potential. Tap into your personal dance medicine for transformation, healing, and shedding experiences that are no longer relevant for your growth. Release the momentous creative force of your power and unique expression in the world!

In an ever changing environment, free movement can help us recalibrate and remember who we are and how to move with ease, care and joy. Embodying a variety of awareness practises connects all layers of the physical body with the beauty of the present moment. You will be guided towards inherent value and intuitive knowing in your flesh and bones. The practice of moving this way becomes a way of moving through life.

Your Guides:

Ali Thompson:

A yogi, dancer and artist trained in embodied flow and ecstatic flow. She loves to weave philosophy, creativity and movement together to form pathways into the wisdom of the body. She is passionate about expression and connection and creates safe containers for these elements to be explored. She has been leading ecstatic dance for over two years and loves the depth of community that forms around it. Let her guide you into your body to connect within, to your environment and to others.

Sarah Campus:

Sarah is an embodiment facilitator and lover of somatic and free movement. As a dance improviser and guide, she attunes to her own body’s wisdom and the natural world as it evolves and adapts in creatively changing environments. She loves to share and transmit these experiences with diverse communities.

Sarah has over 20 years experience teaching contemporary dance, somatic and free movement, contact improvisation, vinyasa flow and kundalini yoga, mantra and meditation and authentic embodied expression.

As certified Ecstatic Flow dance facilitator, Sarah regularly offers dances in Tauranga. She is delighted to create space for people to discover their dance medicine for transformation and healing, to express diversity, and feel connection to spirit through inhabiting a grounded, fluid, adaptable and resilient body.
