A Community Panel with Bangladeshi Queer Migrants in the US
About this event
Queer Archives of the Bengal Delta and South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) welcome you to this intimate panel discussion among Bangladeshi queer migrants to share stories that together speak to their experiences. We will meet together on Monday July 12, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM EDT / 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM BST on Zoom with panelists and pre-registered visitors to celebrate and mark the release of Moving Memories, an oral history project.
Panelists include: Ahadujjaman Atif, Prianka Ball, Rasel Ahmed, and Sharmin Hossain.
Moving Memories holds space for oral histories of loss, displacement, nostalgia, questioning identities, and making homes out of refuge and temporariness within communities of Bangladeshi queer migrants in the U.S. Through archiving and sharing these stories, the project hopes to promote more inclusive migrant narratives in the mainstream discourse.
This project is supported by the SAADA Archival Creators Fellowship and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
