Event description
This training for nonprofit leaders will outline a new way of approaching strategy: active program strategy for impact and equity.

About this Event

This session will help nonprofit leaders change the way they do strategic planning - instead of being done once every 3 to 5 years, strategy should be part of regular decision making and help to recognize and respond to emergent opportunities, challenges, and learnings - all with the end goal of becoming more effective, more equitable, and more efficient. In today's fast changing world, organizations have to balance stability and focus on their mission and communities with being nimble and responsive to the changing realities they are facing.

This training for nonprofit leaders will outline a new way of approaching strategy - Active Program Strategy for Impact and Equity - that helps organization maximize their impact and achieve more equitable results through an approach to program development and improvement that incorporates components such as: threshold assessments about what you should or should not do, background research to collect key information to support decision making, program planning and design, operational planning, and performance measurement and management.

Key Takeaways:

  • Framework for Active Program Strategy for Impact and Equity
  • How to center and advance equity (in both process and outcomes) through planning
  • How this approach differs from traditional strategic planning, and when each is most appropriate.
  • Understand next steps on how they can start to integrate this approach into their organization.

This workshop will be presented by Patrick Germain of Germain Impact Solutions.

Participants who complete the post-session evaluation can receive a PDF copy of the presentation.

Area of Excellence: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and Planning & Evaluation.
