Event description

Description

Moving Forward is my somatic-creative response to reaffirm my commitment to the Women's March, to celebrate the spirited efforts to stand our ground over the past year, and to build resilience in these challenging times. Calling everyone to support and empower women's rights, human rights, workers rights, immigrant rights, reproductive, social, and environmental justice.

As a participant in last year's march with EAR to the Ground Productions, which was an empowering experience for me to step out of my comfort zone, I am offering this movement gathering so that I can keep moving forward and keep the spirit of resilience alive.

What: This is a somatic-creative movement gathering to hold space for ourselves and offer personal intentions: In response to current challenges, what matters to you? What quality or resource are you bringing forward? In solidarity with one another, we embody our breathing, living, and connective bodies, and move forward in these challenging times.

Part 1: Gather at the studio. Pre-March prep and ritual celebration.

Transition from studio to street.

Part 2: Join the march at Market St.

Who: Everyone is invited, supporters of the Women's March, those who want to share their intentions and connect with others, those who want to keep moving forward. No movement/ dance experience needed, only your desire, presence, and participation!

Preparation/ Bring:

(A) Bring an intention that feels real. Write it down: In response to current challenges, what matters to you? What quality or resource are you bringing forward?

(B) Bring a medium sized stone/rock.

When: Saturday Jan. 20, 2018. 11 am. -- 1 pm.

Where: Mary Sano Studio

245 5th St. #314 (between Howard and Folsom. 3 blocks walking distance from Powell Bart Station)

SF, CA 94103
