There’s nothing more important than finding support from those who “get it” as you navigate grief. You will have the support and accountability from other widows and who will validate your feelings, support your goals and hold you accountable to the steps you are taking to make necessary changes in your life. There is no such thing as failure here. We’re all in this together.

Organizer Karen Rohner

Organizer of Moving as You Grieve: A 6 Week Widowed Group Coaching series (Evenings)

My name is Karen Rohner. I was born and raised in suburban Chicago. In 1991 my husband and I and our 2 children moved to Michigan to pursue a career for my husband. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom for 17 years. What a gift!

In 2004 tragety struck our lives as my husband suddenly passed away of a rare heart condition. My kids were 14 and 15 years old at the time.

Early in my widowhood I found a community of other women who were also widowed around the same time I was. This group of 5 women were instrumental in my life as I struggled and navigated the journey of grief. Over time I developed a passion to help other widows find support and community to help them also navigate their grief.

Over the past 14 years I've coordinated monthly group meet ups for widows, set up small groups and supported other widows through one on one meet ups.

In 2007 I decided I wanted to do more so I went to life coaching school and earned my certification to be a Life Coach. I now have a private practice conducted online mostly as a Life Coach for widows.

In order to be able to continue supporting widows through one on one support outside of coaching, I have recently partnered with a missioin organization called Abide Ministries.  Through support and donations I'm able to leave my desk behind and create meet ups and one on one meetings throughout my week.
