Move Well: Learn optimal movement strategies to prevent injuries and keep pain away


What does it mean to move ‘well’? To not only get yourself from point A to point B but to do so in a way that minimizes your risk of tripping and falling? To perform activities for daily living without the fear of aggravating an injury? To engage in regular exercise with the confidence that you’re performing the movements in the most optimal way for you?

Each of these can be addressed using the same philosophy: to be intentional in the way you move. To learn a few basic tools to protect your joints and optimize how you engage with your environment.

Beginning with a functional movement assessment, Dr. Cox will lead you through optimal setup positions for squatting, hinging and pressing. Together with Geoff, you will then learn basic warm up and cool down drills including stretching and foam rolling so you can head out into the world ready to tackle whatever life throws at you.

If you've ever struggled with injuries, feel fearful of performing exercises well or want to fine tune the way you move then this event is for you.



Move Well is the first of three workshops presented by Dr. Travis Cox and Geoff Starling CSCS created to share the importance of optimal movement patterns and their role in reducing injuries and improving daily function. In our next workshop, Move Strong, we will apply these lessons using examples from the gym and real world situations.
