WASHINGTON THEATER COMPANY CELEBRATES
DC BLACK PRIDE WEEKEND

African-American Collective Theater Presents
“MOUTH PIECE/s” on Sunday, May 27th

In what has become an annual spring event since 1992, African-American Collective Theater (ACT) returns with the latest in its ongoing series of LGBTQ Theater Showcases presented to commemorate DC Black Pride Weekend.

This year, ACT’s celebration, MOUTH PIECE/s consists of a pair of “Readers Theater” style performances – each featuring a different line-up of short plays written and directed by Alan Sharpe – with Program A at 4 pm and Program B at 8 pm, on Sunday, May 27, 2018.

Sharpe, ACT’s Founding Artistic Director explains, “In addition to the many activities scheduled in observance of DC Black Pride, we recognize the weekend is also a three-day holiday, with Memorial Day serving as the unofficial kick-off to summer. Many folks have out-of-town guests and a lot of other activities to juggle. Therefore, we try to schedule some flexibility into our event, with both early and late shows to accommodate everyone.”

MOUTH PIECE/s will be presented at First Congregational United Church of Christ, conveniently located downtown at 945 G Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 -- (10th & G Streets, NW) which is right around the corner from The Grand Hyatt – host hotel for most DC Black Pride Weekend Events. $10 parking is available in the church building's garage during the performances. Garage entrance around the corner, at 733 10th St NW.

Directly adjacent to the Martin Luther King Library, First Congregational UCC is also just one short block from both the Metro Center and Gallery Place METRO stations, as well as many major bus lines.
