Description

Call to Action for Racial Equality (CARE Coalition) presents West Virginia’s first racial justice conference, the Mountain State Racial Justice Summit, on November 30 and December 1, 2018 at BridgeValley Community & Technical College, South Charleston Campus. This year's theme is “Rekindle Power. Generate Light. Build Futures.”

Local, regional, and national facilitators will lead workshops, dialogue and discussion groups, and strategy sessions on a variety of topics related to racial justice organizing in West Virginia and Central Appalachia. Schedule: View our tentative agenda-at-a-glance.

Friday Evening's Keynote Speaker: Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson, Co-Executive Director of the Highlander Research & Education Center

Saturday Evening's Keynote Speaker: Troy Williams, Program Coordinator for the R.I.S.E. scholars (Restorative, Integrated, and Self-Educated) program at Chabot College. Please note that this event will take place at West Virginia State University, Ferrell Hall Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 PM; Event starts at 7:30 PM. This event is included in your conference registration, and is also ticketed separately.
