Fire and candlelight surround you.
The smells of cedar, fir, and spruce boughs fill the air.
Off in the distance you hear the sound of bells from an approaching reindeer.
Will you be brave enough to get on and go for a ride? Her fur is soft and warm under your fingers. Where will she take you? Into a forest filled with hoarfrost, a world made sparkling and white...
This December, come to Mountain Horse School in the Upper Squamish Valley for a dose of seasonal magic. Come ride one of our trustworthy reindeer flown in all the way from the North Pole (they may have equine ears and tails and look a little like Mountain Horse horses, but they are REINDEER, we promise!). Make a wreath or table centrepiece to bring the scent of evergreens home with you, enjoy some hot chocolate and a treat in the barn, and of course some snuggles with the animals.
Arrival times are staggered to minimize wait times for rides. Tickets are priced at $27 and are needed for children 3 year of age and up ONLY. Children under 3 (who are too little to ride) and their accompanying parents are free. Please visit the Eventbrite page to purchase tickets, and please invite your friends! Driving directions to the farm will be sent to attendees before the event via email.
In the tradition of Mountain Horses' public events, our Christmas festival is created to gift an experience of magic and sacredness in relationship with animals and the natural world. For more information about year round programming, please visit www.mountainhorseschool.com
Is there a minimum age for the reindeer rides?
Children must be 3 years of age and up to ride the reindeer (horses). All rides are fully supported by a leader and sidewalker, and parents may accompany their children if they wish. We are not able to give rides to adults at this event, sorry!
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Car pooling with friends is encouraged, and visitors are asked to leave their cars on the road and walk into the farm.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
As this is a farm environment, please leave your dogs at home.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please email Kera Willis firstname.lastname@example.org or call the landline at the farm: (604)848-6248
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No! There will be a guest list printed out; you are asked to simply cross off your name.
