The Mountain Heritage Literary Festival is an annual gathering of writers at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Every year writers gather at the ancient and beloved Cumberland Gap to celebrate writing, music, and Appalachian heritage. Events include workshops, panels, readings, concerts, lectures, open mic, and more. This year the festival will be held June 9-11. Some of our 2017 guest authors include Mark Powell, Pamela Duncan, Marie Manilla, Jim Minick, Pauletta Hansel, William Wollfitt, Sonja Livingston, and Amy Wright, among others. Wild Ponies, Telisha and Doug Williams, will be our musical keynote.

Full registration includes housing and meals as well as festival registration. A non-residential option is also availalbe.

Note: To register for Playwright Intensive, the week prior to the festival, or Cumberland Gap Studio, the week immediately following the festival, please see those pages on LMU's website or Event Brite listings.
