What: This camp is a girls-only intermediate mountain biking class. We will master basic skills taught in beginner camps and learn progressions of those skills. This camp will also be more focused on getting experience riding more difficult trails as we progress.

I will teach your daughter how to take her riding to the next level, and promise she'll have a fun-filled week learning new skills, gaininng confidence on and off her bike, and furthering a lifelong love of moutain biking.

Camp highlights:

  • Small camp. Each week is limited to 6 girls
  • Girls only (girls teaching girls)
  • Step-by-step instruction of each skill progression
  • Skills are taught in open field
  • Each girl will recieve one-on-one feedback while riding trails
  • We will session difficult parts of trail to gain confidence and a higher level of technical ability
  • By the end of the week, we'll have mastered the trails around Slaughterpen.
  • Fun, fun, and more fun.

Why you should trust me, Cate Mertins, to teach your daughter:

  • Walton College of Business Honors Student at the Univeristy of Arkansas
  • 2019 honors graduate of Haas Hall Academy, Fayetteville
  • 2016 - 2018 Arkansas State Champion, National Interscholasic Cycling Association (NICA)
  • I've spent countless hours teaching my siblings, friends, teammates, and campers to ride and progress in their skills for recreational mountain biking and racing.
  • I am a certified Level 1 Coach in NICA; as a freshman in college this year, I coached 6th-12th graders at my high school.
  • While at Haas Hall: I founded the school's mountain bike team, served as president of student council, and served as cheer team captain, all of which taught me how to organize, teach, lead, and motivate others.
  • I'm passionate about getting more girls on bikes: I've spoken at the World Summit of the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) on the impact mountain biking has had on my life, and was invited to participate in IMBA Uprising, an all-women symposium focusond on identifying and overcoming the obstacles women face in the sport. At Uprising, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to help develop and launch GRiT (Girls Riding Together) a national intiative to get more girls on mountain bikes.
